I have a 2007 X5 that has a very annoying problem with the auto gearbox. Basically, the transmission on gear changes is not very smooth at all and sometimes the engine seems to rev higher than normal and 'hang' before changing.
I had a BMW 330 auto previously that had a similar problem. BMW had the car in 5 or 6 times and kept telling me that they couldn't find a problem.
I'm considering asking a BMW dealer to have a look at it but as the car is now out of warranty I'm worried that I may get the same response as previous.
Does anyone know of any similar issues with this auto gearbox (I've heard that this is a common fault pre 2009). Also any advice would be much appreciated - cheers.
