BMW

When My Dad died he left a Ford Fiesta to his 5 sons. Not worth much to any of us. We buy any car offerd £2300. Brothers let me have it. I fixed the body damage with a new wing mirror. Cost £350 , sold it for £5800.

It was worth my time and money. This BM is only going to be worth a punt if I can make 3 grand come September.

When I sold our A3 last year on Autotrader, I put it up for about a grand more that the WBAC price. A car dealer bought and they eventually sold it for £1200 more than they paid me. It took them nearly a month and don’t forget, they offer HP and a warranty. There’s no way you will make anywhere near £3k on the WBAC price selling it privately later in the year and that’s if you can sell it at all. It’s not easy selling a £12k motor privately!

All good advice. Its a nice car but never would be my choice of motor. If it was something that suited my needs then I I'd think differently.
But your right I wouldn't want to be stuck with a lemon.

My brother died 5 years ago. WBAC offered my initially £2600 then over a few weeks the price rose to £3700

So I advertised it on autotrader and got £4600 within 24 hours

We buy any car is only suitable for people who want rid of their car immediately.
All the cars I've sold in my time have gone on autotrader.
For a small fee you get the largest audience in the country.
When I sold my A6, I tried a quote on WBAC and it came back as £3000 roughly.
I sold it for £7000 privately and it's still going strong, passed MOT again in February without advisory.

We bought our A3 off of Mrs Motties sister and she let us have it for the WBAC price which at the time was better than she had been offered in p/x. This was just before covid/lockdown times when car prices went crazy. I kept checking the WBAC price for that car just to wind her up and in two years it had gone up to £5005 more than we paid her for it before it started dropping and we didn’t lose too much when we sold it about 4 years later.
