Some good news - seems the joist in the loft is right where it needs to be for my shower stud wall.

But I plan to get a plasterer to put new boards up - is is sensible to do this before I do my stud wall? Or will the boards be held on sufficiently even if the one joist is blocked by the stud wall?

jonbey, good evening.

My preference would be Sheet the ceiling first then partition up to it.

Fastest way in new builds is floor down, ceiling up, external walls boarded, then partitions, wiring carcass in place as is plumbing first fix prior to all plasterboard.

Ken.
