I'm boarding a ceiling in a new kitchen extension. 9ft of which is part of the existing ceiling so older joists. Any tips on doing it? I've been told its easier to nail the new area and screw the older one. The new joists are bang on level. Any advice?

What about dry lining? I've loads of new socket boxes. Do you normally measure then cut out for sockets or push the board up against the boxes then cut out the mark they leave?

i would screw it all and if your workin to backboxes mark with a bit of board then bang them
