Hi, could someone knowledgable please tell me what screws i should use to fix my plasterboard ceiling to my joists / studs. I am unsure whether these should be plasterboard screws or wood screws. Im also curious to know about plasterboard screws in general, when they should be used. Also please advise a length of the screw so i can go and buy some...Thanks as usual.

easy thing to do is to look on screwfix website see if ones near you, if not go to wickes/b n q.

Get anything around 50mm or 2 inches if your using half inch board then youll get 3/4 of the screw in the joist. The screws are black to help you, dont get wood screws they are for wood.

And plasterboard screws should be used when screwing plasterboards to wooden joist.

Not wood screws, dry wall screws only; Wickes got 1000 x 38mm on special for £6.20 at the moment which are OK for 12.5mm boards if your not overboarding.

Board across the joists & stagger the joints.
