Hi Guys,

Need to fit radiator to bathroom, original flow and return need to be altered so obviously need to drain down system.

Boiler is a vaillant vcw - Sine 18 T3 WF H

Could not see any kind of filling loop to repressurise the system. Do any of you knowledgable people have any advice for doing this, or does this boiler self pressurise?

Also, when the heating and water are off, the standing BAR pressure is just over 1/2 bar, when working the pressure is nearly 2, does this also sound right?

Many thanks

Rob

Expansion vessel needs repressurising, see FAQ but only use 0.8 bar air and 1.3 bar water.

Filling loop will be somewhere for you to find.

If you turn off the valves under the boiler before draining rads you can keep using the boiler for hot water ( as long as you have done the repressurising ! )

Thanks Tony,

Might sound like a stupid question but I dont need to be 'Corgi' to do this do I?

Depends which Regulation you want to abide by!
But no , if you aren't touching anything to do with gas, flues, vents or controls then there's not toooo much danger of blowing the street up.

OK, Think I may walk away from this one! Apparently the owner has a contract with BG  and the last time they came out they had to take half the kitchen apart to get to the filling loop!

Dont think I am that confident to do this, would worry myself to death in case anything went wrong with the boiler.

Insurance claim against blowing someones house up would not look to good!

Ah, didn't know it wasn't your gaff.
In that case, with a boiler that old, don't even WALK too near it... :(

Thanks, thats pretty much my thoughts, you know when you look at something and you get that feeling its going to turn out bad............................................................................................
