can anyone tell me what is in boiler condensate? and how it is supposed to escape from the building? mother-in-law just had an intergas 36/30 fitted, and the condensate is going into a bucket. does it have to go into a drain or can it spill onto the drive?

Good grief

It is slightly acidic and needs to be run to drainage, preferably internally. (waste pipe)

It could be run to a drain externally although precautions need to be taken as it is prone to freezing

It can be run to a soak away externally if no drainage is available, and again precautions to help prevent freezing

only glanced at it in passing tonight, so hope the fitter is coming back...and he's gonna have a job finding a drain- it's on the other side of the house with the drainpipes!

The fitter was a cowboy who should have put it into a drain.
Unless he hasn't had time to put the drain pipe in.
