Hey on the tail connections to a boiler that come with a fibre washer, do many plumbers also put so jointing compound around the fibre washer before tightening to help the seal?

Some do some don't if you use any compound don't get it on the threads or you'll have trouble getting the fitting off if you need to and do not over tighten it when fitting it some people have this fettish that you have to swing on fittings when you don't good luck
you dont need to , some poorer installers do, but the fibre washers arent designed to have anything smeared on them when fitting and be carefull not to over tighten them as it is possible to split them
