I have a compact fernox filter which is 4 yrs old.

I have fitted a new kitchen and so i moved the filter a little to the left when i fitted a new base cabinet (filter at cabinet level).

Since then the filter has been leaking. I changed the two rubber rings which came in the pack and everything was ok, but the thing has started leaking again. I cannot crank it any tighter.

Is this a problem devise ? Any ideas on how to solve. Very close to cutting out and replacing.

They are shyte beyond belief. fit something decent like a Spirovent MB3 or Adey Magnaclean.

Fernox should be embarrassed at selling such utter pap. As if they didn't learn from the POS that was the Boiler Buddy.

Which would you choose between the Spirovent MB3 and the Magnaclean? The Magnaclean is twice as expensive.

I have a BoilerMag and always find it a chore to clean out as it inevitably leaks and has to be (over)tightened to make it stop.

They're both the same price to within a few pounds in my experience, no idea where you're getting the twice as expensive from. The MB3 is a bit more powerful and has lower flow resistance, but it's harder to clean and there's no way of seeing whether it's clean or not.

I was looking at the 28mm versions. Didnt search for long, so possibly cheaper, but found the MB3 to be about £90 and the Magnaclean about £150. (Not quite half the price, apologies).
