Please help no hot water or heating ???

The boiler in question is a potterton suprima 40 it is 5 years old and about 2 years ago had the PCB replaced, And has been fine every since.

But as of a few days ago i tried putting the hot water/heating on and it goes through the motion fires up ok for about 2 seconds and just dies, does this 3 times before needing to be reset, it has came a few times but it is very hit and miss especially in the cold mornings.

What i have noticed is that when it does work i hear water flowing into the boiler but when it swiches itself off i dont, im sorry if im stating the obvious but could this be some sort of airblock pump issues ??? (im useless at D.I.Y. etc) if so what could i do.

Ive also noticed a radiator in the living room is hot at bottom cold at top so i believe this needs bleeding , could this be connected ??

Please help, as so close to christmas i could do without the need of enginneer visits if at all poss

Thanks

Sounds like air, start with bleeding. May not do the trick if air is being sucked in, usually soiled system, common problem with open vent. Read faq

bled the feed and downstairs rads, still not happening think it probably a pump problem ?? if so how much approx is new pump for suprima 40 fitted, any ideas ???
