Turned on a hot tap today and after much clunking and hissing, the water turned coloured, then to steam.
I investigated the boiler in the loft and noticed that the pressure was down to zero. On refilling the boiler, water began leaking out so I have decided to once again ask this board for advice, before calling in the pros.

I took off the cover and noted that water appears to have leaked mostly from the area of the automatic air vent.

My boiler is a glow-worm Compact 100p

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve

Replace the aav then refill. Check for any other leaks, epecialy heatexchanger as this will be expensive if it has cracked.

Good luck

Thanks. Had a good local plumber round earlier who changed the AAV (completely melted inside). Am now awaiting to see if the PCB will dry and work again. FINGER CROSSED.
