boiler noise from potterton housewarmer

I have a potterton housewarmer boiler it makes a howling noise when it starts up. initally the noise only lasted for a few seconds it is now lasting for minutes. can anyone offer advice to remedy this problem.

if its the noise im thinking of like a whooshing noise replacing the gas valve and burner assembly sorts this

Gaz how much should i be looking at to get a expert to repair this fault
