I have a Baxi 50HE Plus boiler, with a hot water tank. Heating is wet underfloor downstairs and radiators upstairs. I have separate Honeywell control units - one downstairs which controls the underfloor and hot water, and another upstairs for the radiators.

I don't use a lot of hot water and tend to just stick it on for an hour every couple of days or so.

Problem is when I try to put the hot water on, the boiler doesn't come on. The light comes on the control unit as normal, but no boiler action. I've tried the +1hr and constant options. The boiler does turn on when I start the heating upstairs or down so that seems OK.

I've tried hitting the reset button on the control unti to no avail. I'm hoping it's something simple - any suggestions?

Well it is simple ( for a heating engineer at least! ).

The fault is likely to be within the motor valve or just possibly the cylinder stat.

Thanks :-) it eventually started working of its own accord, so seems like it could be an intermittant fault. I think my boiler service is due soon so I'll get an engineer to take a look then unless it completely gives up in the meantime.
