Hi, My boiler has started to make a loud noise when starting up especially when using the hot water. The pressure is just under 1 bar when cold. The boiler starts and for a few secs its quiet the it sounds like a plan engine starting up increasing in speed. Any ideas what the problem could be?

The boilder is an IDEAL boiler. Many thanks

Ideal H12 HE15 He18 HE24 === Is what it says on the Manaul, so its one of the those but as to which im unsure sorry.

Its a gas related fault and so you will need to call a competent engineer.

Although a gas part CAN be adjusted, Ideal tell people that it should not be adjusted! That means they sell a lot of parts which could quite likely be adjusted!

Presumably you did not bother to have it serviced?

With the reputation of Ideals, it would be a good idea to tell the engineer to check the whole boiler rather than just repair this fault.

Thanks for the replies

It get serviced every year as its a rental property. The last one was 4 months ago. It had a fault 2 months ago the spark plug type things were too far away so had to be replaced.

Is The boiler still safe to use?
