Hi,

Moved to a new flat and noticed our boiler pressure would slowly fall so we kept having to open the filling loops every couple of days to top it up.

We then found a leak in a radiator and got a British Gas guy to fix it.

However, even after fixing the leak the pressure is still falling.

Can falling pressure be caused by anything other than a leak in a pipe/radiator somewhere?

Thanks

Nope!

All manner of things can cause pressure to fall.

Boiler EV-does your pressure rise?

Boiler PRV and non barrier PVC pipe are just three.

Check the wiki.

Ok, well when I top it up with the filling loop, it stops filling when it gets to about 1.5 because it equalizes with the water pressure.

Is it ok to leave this filling loop always open so that it keeps the pressure at a constant 1.5?

Thanks

no! not a good idea mate. there should be a small pipe leading to an outside wall. if theres water dripping out of that then you need a new pressure relife valve.
