Got a worcester greenstar 30si. Could anyone tell me what the press should be when the central heating is on, it was just over 2.5 bar last night and making a low hum. Its for a friend at work who has just had a complete central heating system fitted, i thought it could be air and told her to vent all the rads but apparently her plumber told her it didn't need doing for over a year! any advice greatly appreciated.

On a new system that is constantly used, I always tell my customers to check for air in the rads about 3-4 days after I have gone and if no problems then once a week for about 2-3 weeks.

The pressure should be just over 1 Bar cold rising to about 2 when hot.

Is it a very large heating system? If so it may have needed an extra expansion vessel added.

Thanks for the reply, there are 7 rads on the system in a 2 bed house so not a big system. I think venting is the first thing to try and go from there.
