I have a potterton performa 24 eco he combi boiler.

For the last few months its had an intermittent flame failure fault. Every now and then the flame wouldn't light and the flame failure light will be flashing. The motor kicks in, the fan kicks in then there is no click to spark the flame.

At first i had it serviced which didn't fix the problem. The engineer couldn't find any problems and his only suggestion was to replacement various parts in hope of fixing it!

I got a 2nd opinion who again couldn't see any issues. (typically both times the flame was lighting no problem!) he blow down the tube that comes off of the fan. For the next 6 weeks it ran with no problems.

But now the flame failure is back. Can anyone suggest what is the cause of this issue.

Thanks
Nick

Be aware that many installers don't specialise in repairing boilers.

In fact the best repairers don't install boilers at all!

Hi. Have you resolved the boiler issue? We have exactly the same problem. Had the guys out 3 times. Worked fine each time. The last visit he checked filters and water flow in. But only conclusion he came to was stop cock needed turning up. .that worked ok for rest of night but now not working agàin. Love to know what your diagnosis turned up
