had a leaking radiator which led to loss of some water whilst repairing.
The boiler - Potterton Profile 40e was working fine previously but now fires up and starts then cuts out. Its pumped not gravity fed.
I have reset the cut out but happens again.
Have I done something with water pressure?
Unfortunately I have little knowledge of heating systems but would like to have heating over easter.
Can anyone provide an answer?

Is your system sealed or do you have water tanks in the loft? either you have not repressurised your sealed system, or the header tank ball valve could be stuck causing water shortage in an open vented system, or you have an airlock (in either type of system) , worth checking to see if the pump is running ;)

Thanks for prompt reply boilerman 2.
Yes have tanks in the loft. Did check main header tank earlier and ball valve appeared to be working ok.
How do I check if pump is running and how do I purge an airlock?

Thanks

You should find a smaller tank as well , check the ball valve on this one too! ;)

Look at the FAQ on this site for checking the pump.

It might just need bleeding.

Suggestions much appreciated
