Hi, i live in a rented property where the landlord did the plumbing his self i think. iv had problems with the heating, sometimes i would turn it off but it wouldnt actually turn off, the radiators would stay hot. supposedly this is cause the advance button had been pressed...is this true? then other times the heating would be on the and the shower would have hot water other times there wouldnt be any hot water i dont get it at all, after a lot of messing about with it, i have figured out if i put the bath hot tap on and run the water a bit the hot watet then works out the shower, but then sometimes goes cold and if this happens i have to run the cold tap in the bathroom sink which turns the shower water red hot, im totally confused. thank you

What boiler would be a good start
yeah didnt think of that. its a british gas 330 boiler, i never really touch that as it goes on then off after 5 mins, but upstairs theres the water tank with another switch for heating and hot water, and the timer. i really dont understand it as iv only ever lived in a house with one way to turn heating on or off.
