Is it possible? / How easy is it? to fit a different / more powerful pump to my Potterton 80 Combi boiler. On closer inspection I've noticed that the pump flanges only measure about 35mm across, whereby all the pumps I've seen for sale seem to measure about 45mm across the flanges. The pump fitted is the original. The pump fitted seems to measure about 130mm between flanges as do all that I've seen.

why are you trying to change it?
the pump in this is a 1.25 inch fitting if i remember correctly. and should be a 15/50 equivalent - how many floors and rads do you have?

iirc they're 1 inch bspm 6 metre pumps. Should be more than adequate.
Is you diverter valve OK?

Maybe the 100's were 6m and the 80's 5 ??

Hi thanks for reply. i have 10 rads in total over 2 floors, boiler is on ground floor. Have single pipe system and last few rads / peturn pipe are cold.

A single pipe system is not the currently expected standard.

The flow on yours seems to be far too low.

You should expect a suitable tempperature differential but whats achievable will depend on the pipe size and length.
