Boiler Question

No matter what setting we have our timer switch on (off, timed or on) on our Potterton Performa 24 boiler, the heating is always on.

I'd be grateful if someone could advise on possible causes of this and how easy it is to fix?

timer is broken

or not wired properly

Switch on the end of the diverter valve stuck ON. This brings boiler on full but heats rads as DV not actually diverting. Switch may have water in.
