The pilot light went out (bad weather) and followed instructions - push control button to the right and then push control button in and push ignition button and hold the control button in for 20 secs, turn on and if pilot goes out repeat and hold for longer than 20 secs. Done that several time but still goes out, we seem to have this prob once a year and eventually it stays on but this time its taking longer.

Any help appreciated.

Some boilers also require that the power is also cut before the ignition sequence. It could be that.

Or the thermocouple could be faulty/out of line.

An obvious question: do you have gas going to the boiler?

thanks for the reply

The coupler was changed about 2 years ago, the piot comes on but dosn't stay on, as for the power, it does say power off but thought that meant switch on boiler (high/low) and the timer switch, i'll try the main power.

fixed now, new therma-couple (?) fitted and informed of faulty control switch
