I have a eurocal boiler. Been working fine and still does for heating water. when central heating comes on the wholwe boiler stops. Will only restart for more than 2 minutes when central heating is turned off.

i am unsure what to do to sort this out.

What?

So it works fine when heating hot water.

When heating comes on the boiler stops. What do you mean stops.
Stops straight away? What?

Will only restart for more than 2 minutes when central heating is turned off.
?
Do you mean if you switch the heating off and the hot water on it relights after two minutes?

Thanks

Hot water is on 18 hours a day and the boiler gives plenty of it. When the heating is put on the boiler stops after 2 minutes - stops and the red light comes on. keep the heating switched on and restart the boiler after 2 minutes it stops again and red light comes on. Switch heating off and boiler heats water and green light stays on

Is this not a combi?

If it is a combi then why is the hot water not available for 24 hours?

When was it last serviced?

Tony

It would seem you have a eurocal oil combi boiler.
Strange problem I could understand the boiler locking out on high limit stat
on central heating. I would expect the burner to lock out on both hot water and central heating if there was a burner problem. The high limit stat is orange rather than red. Otherwise scratching my head as to a possible cause
without seeing it.
Possible solenoid coil/valve problem as the burning is running for longer
on central heating.
