Hi all, i need more hot water for a power shower and not have the shower run cold when the hot water tap is turned on.

Im looking at the Valliant ecotec plus 937. looked on the forum and it looks like the way to go..

Any input please!!

You are probably using the wrong word as a power shower is pumped which you can never do from a combi boiler.
However the Valliant ecotec plus 937 gives a good flow rate as long as your mains input is up to the job.

Pete

Thanks for that pete, what flow rate is ok for this boiler? and has it got a good name?

I would not consider buying this boiler unless you get over 20 litres per minute from your water main, but they are very well made and reliable boilers with a 2yr warranty. Look at the Glow worm Xtramax HE as another high flow combi that is very good value.

Yea just realized :( thanks dangermouse

No problem. Just looking on this site shows how the cheaper boilers are a false economy and generally unreliable;

Ideal
Heatline
Chaffeturd
Ravenheap
aristoff
Halsdead
Keston

etc etc

dm, how can you say ariston is a bad boiler?
which magazine tested it and says it is the best buy.
does that mean there are no heating engineers working for which magazine?

Ariston are junk, the consumers voted it best buy for ease of use not engineering pedigree. They have made a series of very poor boilers over the last 10 years.

was just kidding, which magazine always comes up with this kind of nonsense based on theoretical performance form paper figures divided by prices equals best buy or something like that.
though there are worse, ariston is pretty p1ss poor quality

"Which?" state in one edition their best buy is the baxi duotech (decent well priced boiler) and in another contradict it and say the Ariston?!

I really wonder how they come to these conclusions, I would place WB and Vaillant as the top two mainstream boiler makers in no particular order. I wouldn't have an Ideal, keston, chaffeturd , ravenheap, aristoff, sime, heatline, or Halsdead if you were giving them away.

Guess they take things like: ease of use, clarity of manual, whether or not it comes with a fly lead and the exact percentage of efficiency as given by the manufacturer and then compare that with rrp or national chain of suppliers take away price.
Reliability and lifeexpectancy are absolutely not in the picture.
