I have a 18 year old Apollo Fanfare bolier.

Every now and again , the pilot light goes out and I have difficulty in reigniting it.

It currently will not light.

I have checked the small circuit board that contains the component that "clicks" and whilst it repeatedly clicks , it will not fire up.

The timer setting is at continous and the room thermostat is turned up high.

Any ideas ?

Think you will need an RGI to have a look as it sounds as though gas parts need to be cleaned.

When was it last serviced professionally?

In that case it probably needs a good RGI in to service it thoroughly. Hopefully this will cure your problem.

Lanarkshire, is that Inverness?

No , it is just outside Glasgow mate.

I have read elsewhere that it may be the Thermocoupling on the bolier that needs replaced / cleaned.

Is this a simple job for an engineer ?

Never was much good at Scottish geography

Yes, it is a simple job, but I don't believe this is your problem.

Probably dirty gas having blocked the injector. But as said an RGI job only.
