Hi Team!

I'm having the walls skimmed next week and the plasterer asked me if I could get the chases filled before he skim coats.

I PVA'd and then used Thistle Bonding 60 and filled them last night.

I've not used a Bonding Coat plaster before. It seemed to harden after ~45 mins and feels solid of I tap it however its not got the hardness of say a top coat?

I can still dig a fingernail or sharp point into the plaster after 24HRS.

Is that to be expected for a Bonding Coat? Or have I mixed it badly

Yeah.
It's not as hard as multi finish. Softer as you say.
You can't really mix it wrong. Just needs to be thick enough to handle it. You can't really effect how hard it dries.
I lash on 2 lots of PVA and leave to dry for a few hours before applying bonding helps. Walls will be dry as dusty.
