I am having a new ktchen fitted and have been asked to sort out whether the cable is 10mm?? What does this mean? how do I check? and what does this involve?

You shouldn't have to do anything. If someone else is fitting the kitchen and doing all the electrics its up to them to sort out beforehand what the bonding is.

the 10mm is the earth cable witch connects to main gas and water within 600mm of the stopcock/gas meter there is no requirment for crossbonding in kitchen as it is or should be RCD protected if the guys doing the kitchen
don't know this don't let them touch it

Red and bold above.....

Supplementary equipotential bonding in kitchens has not been a requirement since the 15th ed of the regs.

Whether there is RCD Protection or not to any circuits in the kitchen makes no odds as to whether supp bonding should be present.
