depends on what you want to do. practice is the most omportant thing. you should get a copy of the OSG (about £15. maybe less)

I'm just finishing my First Year of Electrical Installation and I would recommend the following three books-

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...8-3/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i3_xgl/026-0513977-1155610

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0863413749/ref=pd_sr_ec_ir_aps/026-0513977-1155610

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0863413765/ref=pd_sim_b_dp_2/026-0513977-1155610

If you send me your e-mail address I'll send you load and loads of notes I've gotten for my exams.

i.e. Questions/ Answers Statements

These will help you know what to prepare for.

""Which?" Book of Wiring and Lighting"............Just ordered, atleast it will give my a start.
Can`t e-mail you basic as your e-mail isn`t in your profile

copy/paste how? don`t have your e-mail m8,mine is in my profile but yours isn`t

If you're going to be studying the subject properly, for formal qualifications, I'd strongly advise Paul Cook's "Commentary..."

Trevor Lindsley, its the only book you need for learning.
Everybody starting in electrical industry should have it.
Im just finishing 2nd year 2360pt1 pt 2 next term (im last to do this course) and apparantly my teachers reckon this new one replacing it 2330 i think, is a big load of bol*ks.

Just digressing a little from original post, is there any employers reading this forum who are swayed about each type of qualification, just curious?
