Boosting pressure for mixer shower.

We are renovating our house and the other half wants a mixer shower rather than a power shower in an upstairs en-suite. The major issue is that the hot water cylinder is on the other side of the house and is on the same floor level as the en-suite. The previous owners plumbers, in their wisdom, appear to have cut a Hepworth plastic supply into the expansion pipe in the loft and run it over the loft space and down into the en-suite for the vanity unit. Obs. We have never had running hot water in the en-suite. Our builder mentioned a cold water pressure vessel that uses the cold pressure to boost the hot, rather than a Salamader pump that was our first consideration. Does this sound a viable option and when trying to find a plumber for this, what pertinent questions should I be asking?

Itsnotsomuch where the cylinder is, rather how high above the cylinder, the cold storage tank is!

Any shower pump needs a certain head of water (incoming pressure) to activate the flow switches.

A universal (negative head) pump can be used where the head is low, or borderline.

Once activated, the pump can push water up into the loft and over to the shower outlet.

A decent plumber will be able to assess and provide a solution for what you need.
