Bosch dishwasher error 188. Salt and rinse aid lights lit..

Hi turned on my dishwasher last night and the panel showed 188 and the salt and rinse aid lights were showing despite filling with salt. When turned on it made a loud humming noise which turned out to be the rotor turning really vigorously. Checked the filter etc. and rotor were clear and so thats fine. On closing it endlessly rinses so turned off after a couple of hours! Tipped it back as other topics suggest and some water came out but the panel still shows the same 188 (error code?). I did hear that washing up liquid can damage dishwashers and I did put some in a week ago.
