Hi my dishwasher pump has started making a clicking and stopping from pumping out the waste water. does this just sound like a blockage and if it is what would be the easiest way to clear it or will I have to go in from the back? :)

depends on the model.
on some you can access the drain pump impellor from under your filter cover . if you remove the filter you will see to the left side of the sump a small t-20 torx head screw. undo this and remove the little cover. any blockage can be removed from there usually. if you,ve got that type of machine but theres nothing there, then you remove the lid, then two screws on front edge of left side panel and then remove the side panel. to the rear you'l see hoses connected to the regeneration unit by short black rubber fittings. the two to the rear of the machine are the waste out circuit. an aquavac works wonders on unblocking these pipes.
if your machine is more than six years old then you should get access by lying it on it's back.
if it's less than two years old then again lay it on it's back and remove the bottom panel. you'll find a twist fit pump in there.
