If I unscrew the "thing" from the front where the pump is, will gallons of water come out?
Is this how I check the filter? Some washloads are coming out wetter than usual.

Some of the older Bosch machines had a little hoze attached to the side of the pump that you could drain it with. Not sure about your model, a few towels would be a good Idea.

Hi,

I have tried to reovem this cap but it appears to be jammed and now will not close properley to make a seal? Any ideas anyone?

sometimes an item can get caught in the filter and housing (normally found stuck in the sump to drain pump hose). This can prevent the filter from being unscrewed and can jam the filter when you try.

If you are lucky using a little bit of force and wiggling the filter back and forwards you may be able to remove it. Personally I tend to bite the bullet and tip the machine back a little and remove the sump hose from the pump to enable me to remove any obstructions.

I take it the original problem was the machine not draining
