bosch washing machine problem; programme takes forever

I have no idea what went wrong... but suddenly my bosch washing machine changed from managing a simple programme like 'easy care' which normally takes around 30-40 minutes to now going on for 2.5 hours!
it is still reasonably clean
I have checked the filters and switched whole thing on and off but no change.....
not sure it is heating up properly either....
any ideas what can be wrong?

I think the answer is in your statement 'not sure if its heating up'.......if the machine doesn't get up to washing temperature then the program will take for ever.
From this distance it looks like an element or thermostat problem.
