Bosch WFD 2471 - noise and leak!

Damn washing machine has just sprung a leak. Leak is definitely coming from underneath (towards the front) as I can just see it dripping.

Recently the machine has also been making a LOT of noise while on a fast spin.

If I end up employing an engineer to fix this, what is a likely ROUGH cost?

Noisy spin usually boils down to bad bearings & the leak is likely a by-product. Open the door & check for up/down slack on the drum, then spin the drum by hand & listen for a grinding/rumbling sound. If you find either the bearings are history. Something trapped between the drum & tub (bra wire, coin etc) could also cause an abnormal noise...but there is no mistaking a bearing issue. A bearing change on your machine would cost around £150 in parts alone. And I can tell you it is a god awful DIY job & not for the faint-hearted. Thanks very much. There is indeed a very slight and variable grinding/rubbing noise as I manually turn the drum.

In addition to that, I had a look at the debris trap and found a LOT of debris in it - I removed the debris and tried another wash and noticed that even though the debris trap was in tight, water was seeping out from it AND there was once again water dripping from underneath the machine.

Even when the machine had been emptied of water, on removing the debris trap again there was still a lot of water coming out. I'm assuming there is a blockage as well as a leak somewhere in addition to the dodgy bearings?

You will always get some water out of the filter housing after final pump/spin, maybe as much as a couple of litres. But was there any up/down slack on the drum?
You need to differentiate between damaged bearings & a foreign object stuck between the drum & tub. If there was a lot of junk in the filter/housing then debris & grit etc may be preventing the filter o-ring from sealing properly. There could be a hole in the sump hose if it leaks underneath. That is why is it important to check pockets for loose change etc. A coin lodged between the drum & tub can easily punch a hole through the tub wall. Bra wires, nails & other junk can destroy your heater element, poke a hole in the sump hose, door-seal, punch a hole in the tub wall, or jam the pump. Anything lodged between the drum & tub can make an awful scraping sound when spinning. But if it is the bearings then an economical repair is doubtful.

Doesn't seem to be much up/down slack in the drum.

Is it a tinny scraping sound you hear when you rotate the drum...or more of a grinding/rumbling sound? Take off the drive belt to eliminate any motor noise.
