Hi,

Today my WVT1260GB has developed a fault in the drying cycle. The clothes are not drying or even warming. The machine doesnt seem to be making as much noise as i remember, a fan not on maybe?

There are no error messages on the display

Any ideas?

thanks

Check heater and thermostats found at the back

The thermostat had tripped but it seems to be because the fan wont run.

I checked for voltage and got 240 on the brown, 0v on the blue and 240 on the black. Presumably this means the fan is at fault?

OK, before i shell out £140 on a new fan, im a little suspicious of the capacitor for the fan. there are two browns on one side and a single brown on the other. The side with two browns reads 240V and the single brown side reads about 76V

How do I test the capacitor?

There should be 240v on both sides, try testing at the capacitor terminal with the single brown disconnected, if you get the same result then the capacitor is goosed.
