That's my personal favourite. I never used to put anything on olives but it's definitely best working practice to apply a smear under the seat of the olive and on the olive. I now do this all the time to set a good example to our apprentices. Whenever the seal is made by the threads then it's 16-18 wraps of ptfe tape.
