Bosstherm RF thermostat swap?

I have one of those dreadful Bosstherm (Seimens) RF thermostats that constantly loses connection and is dreadful in general.

I'm fairly DIY/wiring savy but haven't done a thermostat before.

Questions:

1. Can anybody recommend a less bad RF thermostat to replace the Bosstherm (boiler is Ideal Logic + combi).

2. I am assuming that swapping one of these RF thermostats is a pretty straight forward contact for contact swap? Is that right?

Any ideas would be ace.

Honeywell.
But I would spend a little more and install Hive 2.

Should be diy-able as long as you don't touch the boiler front case.

Siemens rf stats are unreliable as are their zone valves.
