? Botch job

Whats the reasoning behind that one.....were the tiles lifting in the wind?
Its only the edge one that needs cementing / clipping if that was the case.
Another paper boy project :P

Anyone may go online and start a trade association or a "Recommended Top Tradesman" site, anyone can send in recommends for themselves - you could do it right now OP.
Use local, recommended by friends, trades people. Ignore all the scammers on the internet.

A view of the return gable wall might help to identify any structural movement.

As above, what you have is not only wrong but badly done.

Thanks folks. Yes they said the tiles had lifted a bit and could lift further/ come off with a gust of wind. It's hard to find roofers that people I know would recommend. Asked around but half our neighbours have had cowboys.

Looks like the roughcasters were sent instead of the roofers! Cant understand how plastering the roof would be more beneficial or even quicker than stripping the verge and nailing / clipping the tiles!

Ha ha ree the doom bringer! Your roofs been mullered and your gable end could potentially be structurally unsound. Really gotta love this guy.

Yeah. Just that. Structural movement is possible when the brickwork is lifted or distorted by various causes.

But typically, if the wall is a cavity wall, and a line of cavity ties rusts and swells they can lift the panel of brickwork above.
The effect at the verge, but most pronounced at the verge and the eaves junction is called a "Pagoda effect".

Whoever did the above work may have simply cocked the verge tile(s) but a view round the corner might enable the OP to be given further advice.
After all, we dont know why the work was required in the first place.

colin89,

How clever of you to write a full sentence. Did someone help you?

I'm so glad that you are following my posts to learn something about roofing - keep up the good work.
