Boxing challenge - how to achieve curve

Hello!

I had a water leak in the the downstairs toilet after a new boiler installation. The installers had to quickly cut open some boxing to fix the pipe.

However, I’m now left with a boxing issue where one of the pipes protrudes slightly so I’m unable to use a straight piece of wood. The existing boxing uses 5mm hardwood plywood. I’ve just bought a small piece for this job.

In one of the pictures, you can see the builder has managed to create a curve to accommodate a protruding pipe (same room) - I would like to emulate this for the protruding pipe that requires boxing.

Any ideas on how I would go about tackling this would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Dave

1. What is in the tin foil.

2. Bring the box-in further out to hide the new pipework, soldering could of being a bit better.

Andy ,

Being curved at the top, straight in the middle, then curved at the bottom would look pants.
Id say you have two options :-
1. Proper way. Take all the Boxing off and re-do it the right size.
2. Bodged way. Leave that existing framing on, and add some more to it to bring it out.

Agree, thats a lash up, quickest method would be to overboard with uvpd soffit or facia in white, clean and easy.
one uniform surface on both edges.
A bit like this.

Use hardboard instead of plywood for that part.

Thanks for all your suggestions, as is the consensus, I’ll probably remove the current boxing, bring out the frame to accommodate the jutting pipes and fix a straight panel.

Cheers everyone
