Hi

Sink is on an outside wall (well not literally). I have asked a plumber if a wall hung basin could be fitted in it's place. I have been told that I will lose some space as a false wall will have to be built to house the pipes. Even though the wall is an exterior wall (not a stud partition), is there still a wooden framework on the block work that the plasterboard is fixed onto? Can't the pipework go behind the current plasterboard, or do I defo need a false wall? Ensuite is not huge, so may have to change plans if a false wall is necessary.

Thanks

if your having a basin with the chrome waste trap etc that gos horizontal yes then a wood studding and plasterboard. only needs to be 2" deep.
you can sink the waste into blockwork if you want.

it depends what you wall is like...some are plaster on to brickwork, other do have a plaster board and are fitted in various ways.

you can bury the pipework in either. just need a grinder
