Its a minded to grant permission by the look of it, so the Welsh government will have the final say. They will need to commit major public funding for both the build and maintenance of such a large facility, so it will be interesting to see if central government provides it with the cash it needs. Can't see how it would be self funding, especially as Merthyr is too far away from major centres of population.

I doubt much if any private money has gone into the scheme, the costs of the professionals in putting tne s he d together were probably covered by public grants. If planning permission is secured they will seek finance. Difficult to see how tne private sector would be attracted to what seems to be a massive white elephant.
