We are replacing switches that have white plastic faceplates for ones with brass faceplates. At present the earth wire goes to the metal box in the wall, I'm assuming because you can't earth onto plastic. However, the brass plates have an earth attachment. So, I need to know........... :?:

1) does the earth stay where it is, on the box.

2) does the earth stay where it is, on the box, but I add another short earth (covered in sleeving) from the faceplate to the box.

3) does the earth get moved from the box, to the faceplate.

I know its one of the three, and they all seem logical, but I dont know which to do. Any help would definitely be appreciated.

Cheers
