Breather membrane for timber-framed walls

It seems like Tyvek Housewrap is the go-to product to wrap a timber frame prior to cladding? I did see someone using a similar product which incorporated a sticky strip so you don't need tape, but I can't remember what it was called.

As far as taping do most people use the (expensive) FlexWrap tape or just the regular 75mm acrylic stuff?

You don't tape breather membrane. The gaps help it ..... errr ... breathe

Lots of other [roofing] membranes work as wraps, you just need to check the manufacturers guide.
 
We always use this so do most of the timber framed we erect slot cheaper too

For most of it, just staple as you go. I assume you’re talking about door/window openings for the tape, you could use something like Flashband but it’s quite thick and not really meant for that so I’d stick with the decent (pricier) stuff
