Hi all

I’m making a garden path with leftover limestone flagstones.

I need to have a step in the path. Imagine a straight path made from 600x900 pavers. Along the way there needs to be a one brick height increase in.. height.

My plan was to lay pavers on mot and mortar bed. To make the step I have some bricks; I was going to pour some concrete to a depth of about 4” or so in the ground. Then I was going to build a single skin, two brick high ‘wall’ on top. MOT type 1 would go behind this, with then mortar in top and the flagstone, making the step.

Does this sound ok. Should I make it two bricks deep.. or make it deeper?

Apologies for my scrawl but basically I want to know if a two brick high wall sat on mortar would be fine, or should I dig deeper and put further bricks into the ground. Won’t be supporting much weight or anything.

Other consideration, i could make it two bricks wide too, so that it may have a sounder footing?
