Hi,

does anyone have any expereince of what the brick effect external facia cladding actually looks like. Quite a few buildings have exterior cladding where we are but I quite like the brick effect from what I see on the internet images but what does it actually look like close up ?

or should I stick to brick slips ?

I'm easy either way, its not about cost as both are reasonable but we want the look to be right.

Heres a link to a VOX cladding page and I'm quite stunned how far things have moved on from the days of mahogany or white upvc.

It's not jut the cladding but the varying elevations and their geographical position and how they will behave in direct sunlight etc. Also trees, shrubs, splashes pipe, cable and service exits, etc. Also have you considered how adding a 'thermal element' might affect your standing with Building Control?

Jeez they look awful, did you watch the installation video, fixing it to an existing building would be a nightmare I expect with existing levels and walls out of plumb, not level etc etc. Sure it seems possible to adjust the panels to suit existing panels but at the expense of it looking terrible. Even the jambs and corners look pretty naff on his nicely prepared perfect wall made for his video.
