Brick Pillar - Point / Rebuild / Partial Rebuild?

The pillar pictured below has been like this for years. You can see it was previously "re-pointed" badly.
However, since cutting down 2 big trees, the pillar hasn't since moved and the gap has actually closed back up.

Do you think we should rebuild the pillar or would it be possible to rebuild the top 5 or 6 courses?
As you can hopefully see, the pillar has previous moved out about 1/2".

The previous structural reported highlighted the settling and said it wasn't a major problem.

Any advice appreciated...

The pillar is what has moved and is now out of alignment with the building. If you are sure all movement has stoped then a few acros and rebuilding of the pillar may be an option.
