Bricking up an external door?

Hi Folks, I could do with drawing in the general wisdom please. We are about to take on a full refurb of a semi and there is an external door in the kitchen that we would like to remove / brick up, to make better use of the space for the new kitchen. What are the restrictions on removing an external door? We have the front door to the property and external bi-fold doors into the garden at the rear. There is also a door from the house into the garage, which also has a door to its rear, so that you access the garden and the rear of the house that way as well.
