Bricking up old fireplace with balanced flue.

Hello,

Out house was build c.1995 and originally had a gas fire with balanced flue. The gas fire has long been removed, so the gas is safely capped off.
The balanced flue was left attached on the external wall, and a new electric fire was installed.

I now want to completely remove the fireplace and brick up/plaster over the hole.

What are the best options for this given there is still a gas pipe within that part of the wall?

If the flue is removed and bricked up, is it necessary to have a vent on the inside wall?

Would it be better to use stud/board for the internal hole filling to give some indication where the fireplace once was due to the gas pipe?

No Flue required for electric fire ask the guy who is bricking up the hole to pull the old flue out.
