British Gas Energy Savers Report

Just for curiosity I completed this survey. What a load of rubbish! It estimated that I was spending £2622pa on fuel when all I am spending is £1320pa. They asked what my monthly DDs were and they still came up with this ridiculous answer. As for their suggestions for saving energy, how about this one:
Turn your heating on an hour later and turn it off an hour later!

I read it twice to make sure I did not mis-read it.

So you get up when the house is cold and go to bed when it is still hot?

I suppose they meant to say,

"Turn it on an hour later and off an hour earlier"

Surely everyone has their heat on as little as possible, but sufficient to maintain their comfort. Do people really set their heating on an hour earlier than they need to get up to a warm house?

So if BG's thinking is get up to a cold house and go to bed in a cold house, I've got an even better idea. Turn your heating off completely and you'll save even more

At least the survey was free. I as Landlord have had to pay £50 for each survey by 'trained surveyor' to get the same useless information. Although when I did the BG one for each property out of curiosity, the banding was exactly the same.
