My friends have just had a new boiler fitted by BG....I've not seen the installation myself yet but they tell me that they have installed 2 "British Gas WR1" receivers in the house. One is cited directly underneath the new boiler and one is under the stairs. The wireless room stat "British Gas RC1" operates both receivers as they can see the red light flashing on both units when they operate the stat and then the green relay light comes on on both receivers when the call for heat is detected. Apparently only one unit can be heard "clicking" and this is the unit located under the stairs. The unit beneath the boiler doesn't make any relay clicking noises. BG said this was done to extend the range of the wireless stat. Is this normal practice? As I say I've yet to see the work but I've never heard of this before and wondered if you experienced heating controls guys had any ideas?
